01Who is responsible for your data

Planets Development designs, develops, hosts and maintains nsitengi.in and its registration and payment system on behalf of the NSITE organising committee of Nehru Group of Institutions (NGI). Planets Development is responsible for how personal information is collected, stored and protected on the Website, in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

02Information we collect

• Registration details: name, email address, mobile number, institution, class/course and, for team events, the names and details of team members.
• Payment details: the amount, date, status and Razorpay payment/order reference. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay’s secure checkout and are not stored by us.
• Event records: your ticket code, check-in time at the venue and certificates issued.
• Messages and forms: anything you send us through contact forms, surveys or email.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and access times, kept in server logs for security and to improve the Website.

03How we use it

• To create and confirm your registration, process your payment and send your e-ticket.
• To check you in at the venue and issue participation certificates.
• To send important event updates, schedule changes and replies to your questions.
• To process refunds, prevent fraud and keep the Website secure.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

04Who we share it with

• NSITE organising committee / NGI and the department running your event, to manage participation, judging and certificates.
• Razorpay, to process online payments and refunds, under Razorpay’s own privacy policy.
• Service providers that help us run the Website (hosting and email delivery), only as needed for that purpose.
• Authorities, when required by law.

05Cookies

The Website uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work (for example to keep you signed in to the portal and to remember preferences). We do not use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the Website may then not work. More detail is in the Cookie policy.

06How we protect it

The Website runs over HTTPS. Access to registration data is limited to authorised NSITE staff with individual logins. Payment information is handled by Razorpay, which is PCI-DSS compliant. No online service can be fully secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

07How long we keep it

Registration and event records are kept for as long as needed to run NSITE 2026 and issue and verify certificates, and payment records for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

08Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent for event updates, by writing to info@planetsdevelopment.com. Some records (such as payment records) must be kept by law and cannot be deleted before the required period ends.

09Children

School students registering for the Science Talent Search are registered with the knowledge and consent of their parent, guardian or school. If you believe a child’s data was submitted without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

10Photos and videos

Photos and videos are taken at NSITE events and may be used by NSITE and NGI to report on and promote the event. If you would rather not appear in published photos, tell the registration desk or write to us.

11Grievance officer

Complaints about how your personal information is handled can be sent to our grievance officer at Planets Development. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page with its “Last updated” date.
